SPECIAL MISSIONARY EXPERIENCES

SPECIAL MISSIONARY EXPERIENCES
NOV. 12, 2012 - MAY 2014. WE ARE EXCITED TO SERVE OUR HEAVENLY FATHER . WE KNOW THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS IS TRUE!! IT IS A BLESSING TO US, OUR CHILDREN, AND GRANDCHILDREN. WE KNOW THAT OUR HEAVENLY FATHER LIVES AND LOVES US! “I think there is no place in the world where I feel closer to the Lord than in one of His holy temples. In addition to the closeness we feel to the Lord when we are in the temple, we can continue to receive blessings even after we have returned to our everyday lives. Attending the temple gives us a clearer perspective and a sense of purpose and peace." President Thomas S. Monson

Hooray!! We're called to serve as missionaries in the London England Temple - We're sad to be leaving our Beautiful Family.

Our beautiful family.  We miss them already.

These are our beautiful grandchildren that live in
Dubai.  We didn't get to see them before we left
for our mission.  We really miss them.

Matthew, Yvonne holding Ridgon,
with Abigail, Talon, and Saylor.
This picture was taken at our family reunion in August 2011.  We have had 4 more
grandchildren since then, with another one on the way in June 2013.  That will
make 20 grandchildren for us.  (11 grandsons and 9 granddaughters.  We love
everyone of them like crazy!!

Our beautiful "little" grandchildren

Grandpa holding Savannah, and Mason, then Henry,

The Accommodation Center.
We moved into Room 54

The Accommodation Center with London Temple
in the background.

Moving into our new apartment.  It is a little bigger
than our room at the MTC.  We
have a small kitchen that we didn't have at the MTC.

Our apartment in the Accommodation Center - the view
of the bed and outside window.
We were told that Apt. #54 was the smallest
apartment in the building.  You can see our beautiful
"little" Christmas tree on the counter.

View of the kitchen

Our cute little bathroom.

A jet flies over every 3-5 minutes.  This picture
was taken from our bedroom window.  Interestingly,
within a few days, the airplanes didn't bother us.
We got use to the noise.

The night after we arrived, the London Temple looked
absolutely beautiful!

The London Temple was built in 1958 and dedicated on
Sept. 7-9, 1958 by President David O. Mackay
It was the first temple in the British Isles.  The temple and its grounds
occupy32 acrese.  It is on the site of Surrey's Newchapel Farm,
an area whose history dates to the time of William the Conqueror.
The ornamental gardens are a quiet refuge for peaceful
reflection and provide scenic views throughout the year.

On Monday, December 15, 2009, an 8-foot statue of the
angel Moroni was added by helicopter to the 160 foot high spire.
It was the culmination of the temple's 50-year anniversary,
which included the completion of two years of renovation
work on the buildings that surround the temple including the
visitor's center, Manor House, and patron housing facility.
New Mission offices were also added

The beautiful London Temple in November 2012.  This
picture was taken a couple days after we arrived.  We arrived
 on November 27, 2013.

This is the Elizabethan-style Mansion known as the Manor House.
The temple Presidency live in this beautiful building along
with several of the temple ordinance workers.

The London Temple Visitor's Center.  It is located across from
the temple, and behind the Accommodation Center

The beautiful grounds of the Temple include 32 acres.

Another view of the Manor House.

The grass stays green all winter even though it gets pretty cold.

The beautiful reflecting pond.  We walk around the grounds and enjoy
the beautiful spirit that we feel.   It is very peaceful.

This the "The Lodge".  Temple workers live here.
In a few months it could be our home.

Elder and Sister Anderson (Ken and Marilyn) walking around the grounds.

The doors we walk in every day to go serve our
Heavenly Father in his holy house.
It's a wonderful and amazing blessing!!

There's pathways to walk on all around the temple.  It is beautiful and peaceful.
There's even ducks and geese that swim in the ponds.

This beautiful picture was taken on one of our first walks
around the grounds in November 2012.
